What types of flooring do you install?

Floorescent Flooring installs just about any type of flooring you can imagine. While we specialize in luxury vinyl tile/plank, hardwood, and carpet, we can install anything ranging from carpet tile to rubber gym floors, to roll vinyl and ceramic. If you have a particular question about a type of flooring, or whether or not a certain flooring product should or shouldn’t be installed in a particular location, let us know. We’re always happy to help!

What types of flooring do you sell?

If you walk on it, there’s a good chance we sell it. Rolled carpet, LVT/LVP, carpet tiles, rolled vinyl, hardwood, ceramic tiles, rubber, etc. We also always keep a few beautiful options for cash-and-carry on hand, which is where you’ll find the best bang for you’re buck—if you’re not too picky.

What is your service area?

While we’re located in Fitchburg, Wisconsin (a suburb or Madison, WI), we happily travel throughout the state for flooring installs. We’ve even been known to extend our services to Iowa, Minnesota, and Illinois. Additional fees, however, may apply to accommodate travel expenses.

How long does it typically take to install?

Generally speaking, it takes about two days to prep and install to compete 1,000 SQ/FT of flooring.

Do you remove and dispose of old flooring?

Yes, we can remove and dispose of old flooring, but this service is charged for.

How long does it take to get the product?

It takes about one week to receive product once we order it from the manufacturer. We also carry some gorgeous products for cash-and-carry, where you can save big.

Do you stock flooring products for cash-and-carry?

Yes. We carry several flooring options for cash-and-carry, where you’re likely to find the best value for the money, if you’re flexible with the type of floor that you’d like installed. Some product types you can expect us to have in stock for cash-and-carry are rolled carpet, hard wood, and LVT/LVP. You can also always reach out to ask what we have in stock, as our cash-and-carry stock regularly changes.

Do you install on weekends?

Yes, Floorescent Flooring installs weekends; although we do our best to schedule everything during the week.

Do you move furniture and appliances?

Yes, but we charge per item that needs to be moved, and the price depends on the furniture or appliance. Some things we DO NOT move, however, are fish tanks and all electronics. Our installers also reserve the right to not move anything they deem to dangerous or valuable. 

Do you have insurance?

Yes, it is available upon request.

What is the difference between LVP & LVT?

LVP & LVT are more-or-less the same product, and LVP and LVT tend to be used interchangeably in the flooring industry. LVP (luxury vinyl plank) comes as a “plank,” and LVT (luxury vinyl tile) comes as a “tile.” Both are sold as piece goods.

What do you mean when you say, 'Ask me about free flooring?'

While you may see some promotions at some bigger box stores in the flooring space that stay they offer “free flooring” or “free installs,” they’re just moving numbers from one line to another to make it seem like you’re getting something that you’re not…nothing is free, and you will always get what you pay for 😉

How long have you been in the flooring business?

Sylvan J. Gerlach started installing flooring professional in the summer of 1979, and he incorporated Floorescent Flooring in 2009. Prior to Floorescent Flooring, he was involved with other flooring endeavors, including teaching installation seminars throughout the country for Mohawk Industries.

What kinds of payments does Floorescent Flooring accept?

Currently, Floorescent Flooring only accepts checks or cash, but we plan on accepting major credit cards in 2024.
