Gerlach and serving the greater Midwest, we’ve established a long tradition of promoting industry best practices that continues to exceed the expectations of our clients after all these years of dedication to the craft.

About Floorescent Flooring
Floorescent Flooring was incorporated in 2009. However, Sylvan J. Gerlach, a United States veteran, has been installing floors professionally since the summer of 1979. Throughout the years, Sylvan learned—and mastered—the craft of installing every type of floor imaginable, and was eventually sought out and hired by Mohawk Industries to lead national seminars responsible for teaching thousands of installers throughout America.
During the financial crisis of 2008, Sylvan was one of the many Americans that lost his job over night. In light of this unfortunate circumstance, and still maintaining a positive relationship with Mohawk, Sylvan set out to get back into business for himself and created Floorescent Flooring.
While Floorescent Flooring has remained a relatively small business since its inception, it has held true to Sylvan’s commitment to quality over everything else. It’s attention to detail and service driven approach to installing floors is what sets it apart from many of its peers, while simultaneously offering honest pricing without any hidden fees. To this day, you can still find Sylvan teaching the craft of flooring to the various installers we work with.
Going forward, some things you can expect from Floorescent Flooring is an integration with technologies that will allow us to streamline our workflows and make our customers’ experiences more enjoyable. We will be adding a lot of value over these next few years, and we’re excited to share the evolution of flooring with you!
